The Barracks will be a social media platform where Veterans and service members can gather as a community to address and voice concerns, barriers, accomplishments, and goals.
Community
The Barracks will be the first of its kind. The Barracks will provide a feeling of fellowship, camaraderie, and friendship as we work to develop the military community. This platform will create a peaceful coexistence. We will strive to meet people where they are while displaying the utmost respect.
Network
Having the opportunity to network and communicate through The Barracks will create a considerable opportunity for active soldiers and veterans to exchange past and present life experiences. This form of engagement and collaboration will allow for peers to connect and stay abreast of current events in the military or civilian sector. The Barracks will also be a reliable vehicle to communicate even when simply needing a listening ear.
Guidance
While our service members already possess the values of duty, loyalty, respect, and selfless service, The Barracks will also ensure they have the education and guidance needed to encompass even more. This platform will create a safe space that encourages veterans and service members to discuss and utilize the The Barracks will guide individuals to discover and reach their full potential.
Resources
Veterans and military service members face many challenges including poor mental health, difficulty reconnecting with family, reintegration into the civilian world, and even employment barriers. There are a wide array of resources to address these concerns; however, some veterans and service members may not have the comfort level or knowledge to access specific resources. The Barracks will provide a safe space that encourages veterans and service members to discuss and utilize appropriate resources.
